Emily and Ashley in front of the Peace monument |
Afterward, we walked to Les Invalides, where we discovered some sort of military ceremony where they were giving out medals of honor. It was cool!
Despite the crisp weather, we took a little walking tour of the city. We walked by Notre Dame, and took a little stroll along the Seine.
Childhood friends in Paris :) |
We then walked to St. Michel and did some shopping. That's where Mikayla met up with us. We showed Emily and Ashley the street of St. Michel, La Sorbonne, and the Pantheon, along with a few cute shops. Afterward, we showed them one of my favorite places in Paris, Le Jardin du Luxembourg. We hung out in the garden for quite some time. It was a beautiful fall day and we decided to sit on a bench and just soak it all in. It was my favorite part of the day, and I saw parts of the park that I had never seen before.
We also stumbled upon Lady Liberty |
After soaking in the beauty of the Garden, we made our way to the 1st, where we did a bit of shopping and went through a few tourist shops by the Louvre. By that time, I was really tired and needed a nap, so I headed back to my apartment to sleep. After my nap I au paired till 8, and after my shift Emily, Ashley, Mikayla, Amanda and I went back to St. Michel to get falafel and gelato. Once we ate, we headed to Notre Dame and Hotel de Ville to show Emily and Ashley how beautiful they were at night. We headed back to my neighborhood, where we walked to the Eiffel Tower so Ashley and Emily could buy some more souvenirs from the gypsies. By that time it was 11 pm, so we headed back to my apartment and crashed. It was an absolutely beautiful day.
