First day as an au pair!!!

So I'm pretty much in love with my life. This morning I woke up to the first morning in my new apartment!! I loved leisurely getting ready and having complete privacy (even though I do miss my wonderful roommate, Marlyn). I went to school, it was 4 hours of French class....not much to say there....Afterward, we all went to the MICEFA office and I finally completed my OFII form (immigration form). Afterward, I completed my student ID card for Paris 8. Now that I've completed it, I can get my "carte imaginaire" which is a cheap way of using the metro. There were a ton of people in the MICEFA office, so this whole process took longer than I would have liked. I then made my way back to the 7th arrondissement, I needed to do some grocery shopping because my apartment was completely bare! I bought all sorts of yummy food and then made my way back to my place. I had about an hour to kill before my first au pair session, so I just stocked my apartment and relaxed for a bit. At 6 o'clock I headed down to my family's apartment. I au pair for to kids, Solene is 9 years old and Matthieu is 10. They are seriously the cutest kids in the WORLD. I hung out with Solene for the majority of time. She just read two chapters of a book out loud to me, and I helped her with pronunciation and comprehension, it was great. Matthieu did his reading on his own. When they were done with their homework, we went upstairs and watched the movie Home Alone in english so that they could get more used to hearing it. We were going to have dinner together, but Beatrice (the mother) went out and ran errands that took longer than she was expecting, so she got home late and said that we would do dinner together the next night. Before I knew it, it was already time to go home! I said goodbye to the kids and headed back to my apartment. The kids are the sweetest things ever, I am really going to love this job. When I got home, I made myself a lovely dinner of pasta with fresh tomatoes, red sauce, pesto, and mozzarella. I buttered some bread, opened a bottle of wine and enjoyed myself immensely. After dinner I continued drinking my wine with some delicious chocolate and got to Skype my dear friend, Dom. It was really nice talking to her, I miss her a lot. It was a great day and I am really starting to love my Parisian life :)
