Homesickness sets in!!!!

Today started off with a really slow morning. I stayed up until almost 3am the night before, so I ended up sleeping in till almost 11. When I woke up I was feeling super homesick and was missing Casey a ton. Everyone was kind of feeling the same way, it was a slow moving morning full of homesickness. We finally managed to get out the door at around 1pm. Because of our homesickness, we went to a diner called "Breakfast in America", which (obviously) served all American style food. We sat there for a good 3 hours (partially because the service was only so-so) and found great comfort in stuffing our faces with unheathy food. We then headed back to the foyer. I was still feeling a bit off, so I laid down in my room in hopes of taking a nap. Unfortunately, this didn't happen, but it was still nice to relax. Afterward, I went with Mikayla to The Phone House so she could get a temporary phone. The man who was working at The Phone House was quite a character, I'm not sure what I thought of him. When we returned to the Foyer, I decided to pack up my stuff because we need to check out of the Foyer by noon tomorrow. So while I was gathering my belongings that were strewn across the room, I took the opportunity to Skype my sister. We only talked for a little bit, but talking to her eased my homesickness.

Tomorrow we all need to check out of the Foyer by noon; unfortunately, I can't move into my place until 6 in the evening. Luckily, Mikayla said that I could leave my bags at her apartment until tomorrow afternoon when I can finally move into my place. Jovanni also needs to store her bag there, so Mikayla's apartment is kind of Suitcase Central right now. So around 8pm tonight, Mikayla, Jovanni, Jared, Betsy, Amanda, and I all made the trek to Mikayla's apartment with our suitcases in tow. Luckily it wasn't too far, a little over 1 km, so it did not take too long. When we got to her apartment, we set down our suitcases and watched some strange French television for a while. We then decided that we were all hungry, so we went in search of food and drinks. Mikayla lives in the 1eme arrondissement, so there were plenty of places to choose from. We finally settled on a little Italian restaurant. It was around 11pm when we got there, so I'm pretty sure the restuarant was getting ready to close, but that didn't stop us! Our server was this sweet guy who fancied Amanda quite a bit. Amanda started speaking to him in Arabic, so he became very interested in us (mainly in Amanda :)). Future Parisian husband for Amanda peut-etre???? :) He ended up buying all of us girls roses, which was very sweet of him. By the time we finished, we were all extremely sleepy and wanted to go back to the Foyer. While we were walking across the Seine, we realized it was midnight. Unfortunately, we were not transported back in time, so Woody Allen lied to us. So we made the walk back and all went into our separate rooms. It was a good way to end a day that started out not so good :)
