I started out my day with an early morning walk, where I enjoyed watching some rowers on the Liffey River. It was a very leisurely morning with a big breakfast and lots of coffee. Naturally, I explored the city some more and did a bit of shopping.
Then, I went to the Old Jameson Distillery and took a tour, which was awesome. There was quite an interesting story behind the Jameson company, and I now have a general idea how to make whiskey. In the end, everyone had a choice of a free glass of straight whiskey, or a glass of whiskey mixed with ginger ale. I had never had whiskey and ginger ale before, so I chose the latter. It was extremely delicious! I also couldn't resist getting a little souvenir from the gift shop for my mother :)
I got back to the hostel that evening and decided to go out for a drink with a friend whom I had met in the hostel. We went to this really cool bar that was 4 stories and covered in copper. There was a really fun Irish band playing too. The bar also brewed various types of their own beer, so we tried a few of their home brews while enjoying the awesome band. It was a lovely night.
There's not much to write about this day, it was a simple, yet amazing day that I wish I could have shared with everyone. Tomorrow I will write about day 3 which will be significantly more interesting because it will be about my trip from the east coast to the west coast of Ireland.
